As the summer months come into full swing, it is time to make sure that we have taken the proper steps to take care of our skin, during these warmer months.  It is not just the heat that causes problems for our skin; it is primarily the change in our normal behavior.  When it’s warmer out, we tend to partake in more outdoor activity, exposing ourselves to the dangers of our environment.  For this reason, we need to make some small changes to our daily skin care routine to not only heal the damage that we incur, but also to take the steps to help avoid the damage all together.

The number one priority during the summer months is the use of SPF.  Whether you use a moisturizer that contains an SPF or you prefer to use a regular sunscreen product, it is absolutely imperative that you include this in your daily regimen.  Many consumers only protect themselves when they lay out in the sun, go on boats, or spend the day in the park under direct sunlight.  The problem is that this is simply not enough protection.  During the summer months, the reality is that just driving in the car, walking to and from your office or  just being exposed throughout your daily errands can cause serious damage and cause premature aging.

In addition to protecting yourself from the dangerous UV rays, it is important to be sure to provide your skin the nutrients that it needs to not only survive these months, but also flourish.  Do not fret, this does not mean that you need an entire new anti-aging regimen, choosing the proper body lotion, hand and foot cream can be all that you need to keep yourself looking your best.  Ensuring that your body lotion contains white and green tea extracts can be instrumental in giving your skin the nutrients it needs this summer.  Not only do these tea extracts repel cellular damage, they have directly proven to help reverse the damage caused by over exposure to UV rays.  You also want to make sure that you are providing your skin soothing botanicals as well.  This will soothe irritated tissue as well inflamed skin.  Chamomile extract and lavender are among the very best for sun specific damage.  Another fantastic ingredient for the summer months is Tangerine Oil.  This helps to reverse the damage caused by free radicals common during these months; and as we all know free radicals lead to premature aging.

While providing your skin protection as well as the nutrients it needs during these months are by far the most important, so is delivering deep binding moisture to the skin cells.  This means we must have regular applications of a body lotion.  By regular we mean at least once per day.  Using the best moisturizing ingredients will also help a great deal.  SesaFlash is a little known sesame protein that has proven to deliver instant binding moisture to the skin beyond that of most moisturizers on the market.  That and Shea Butter have proven to perform the best in studies simulating the effects of summer sun exposure.

The Best Body Lotion delivers your skin the exact nourishment and hydration your skin cells need in the upcoming months.  We all tend to underestimate the amount of damage that can be incurred during the summer months, but believe me, when you age prematurely, it is a lesson you wish you had learned earlier on in life.
